Here on the Word of Mom Media Network. I'm your host, Dori Di Carlo, and we have been here for thirteen seasons, show after show breaking those myths that mopreneurs and business women, especially those of us building our businesses from home, that we're just dabbling in between bake sales and getting our nails done. We are not. We are smart, we are savvy, and we are sharing the wisdom of women in business and in life. This is kicking off twenty twenty six. I cannot believe that we are still here doing what we are doing and bringing women to the forefront. We have phenomenal shows, our author's ali and business spotlights, our coaching corners and healthy habits, and most importantly, our Morepreneur Model show, which is what began it all way back when I first started this, I wanted to give women like me a voice, women who are building their businesses from home while raising their families and having to deal with people telling them all the time, when are you going to quit this and get a real job, because, let's face it, unless you grow up in an entrepreneurial family, most people do not

1:35 understand when you decide to start your own business. They can't imagine that you would give up. I'm doing finger quotes in the air the security of building somebody else's business and getting a paycheck instead of building your own. Again. We're here now thirteen years. March will be fourteen years on the air, and I have been so lucky to connect with remarkable women on a global level who are out there making a difference. I took a bit of a break from the end of the year to now, recovering from my fifth concussion and just wanting to step back a bit and renew my energy. And that is one of the great things about having your own business, giving yourself permission to unplug and regenerate and renew yourself.

And I'm going to be introducing you to Tara to Hearn. I'm very excited about bringing these women and more to our show this year and the other thing that we're doing. We had a show called Mom's After Dark, and back when we were live, we would actually be able to take live callers and everything else. But our formats changed and we go direct to podcast now. But I've gotten together a group of women because we can't stay silent any more.

4:02 Through the years, I've really tried to stay above the political fray and focus on sharing the wisdom of women in business and in life. But the reality is we can't keep silent any more. I'm sixty five years old. I grew up at a time where my mom, who was a single mom, couldn't get an apartment, couldn't get a car loan, couldn't even get a credit card without the signature of a man. I lived through Roe v. Wade, and now I'm living at a time where I'm watching women's rights get rolled back, actually watching them being taken away from us, and it is mind blowing to me.

4:55 So I'm getting a group of incredibly diverse women together because we can't stay silent anymore. And that's what Mom's After Dark is going to focus on, ripping right from the headlines what is going on in our country and the global impact that this administration is having on the United States of America. Again, I never looked at this to be a political show, but it has to be. We have to have a place where we can come together. We're going to create our own Facebook private group where women can ask questions, where women can give their opinions, and we will share them on air privately, so your anonymity stays safe. You don't have to come out to the public, but will bring your concerns out on the air and share what we know and share how we're feeling.

6:01 I want to thank you all for all of the years that you have listened to our show, that you have shared the vision that I've had of just bringing women to the forefront, because, let's face it, we can be out there singing by ourselves and have a beautiful voice, but when women come together, the choir that we make is remarkable. Let twenty twenty six be the year that we stop worrying on a high school mentality that if you help another woman, what if she steals your boyfriend? Oh no, what if they like her more than they like me. That's not what is going to get us ahead.

6:48 What's going to get us ahead and move us forward is working together. It doesn't matter that you both have the same kind of business, because no one can be everything to everyone. No coach can coach everyone who needs coaching. No author can write a book that nobody else has to read another book. No business owner can't help somebody else in their field. And here's the reality. The bumps that we have faced, the roads that we have had to travel, the stepping stones that we've fallen over and skinned our knees and everything else, these become the roadmap to show other women that no matter what, we can do it, and we can do it together. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of my life being mansplained to every guy who's out there who can teach women how to stand up for themselves, how to run a business, how to balance a check book, how to create whatever. There's a woman out there that can and show us the way too. So let's champion them, let's stand with them, let's share. I for me, I love sharing other podcasters on my show. I truly do because I don't feel that if you like somebody else's podcast, it will make you like Word of Mom Radios less.

8:22 I don't believe that there is room enough for everyone. If the universe shows us anything is that everyone can be successful. Everyone can create their dreams one day at a time.
